Aamir Khan to be a father

Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao is three months pregnant.

Kiran, who is currently busy with her directorial debut film “Dhobi Ghaat”, was

apparently admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on May 31 for fever. Her pregnancy was discovered in course of the treatment.

Kiran is said to have been in the hospital for a week and Aamir was a daily visitor.

Aamir and Kiran got married in December 2005. The actor has a son, Junaid, and daughter, Ira, from his first marriage to childhood sweetheart Reena Dutta, which ended in a divorce in 2002.

Blast kills 25 civilians in western Afghanistan

At least 25 civilians were killed when their bus was hit by a roadside bomb in western Afghanistan, the provincial governor said.

provincial governor Ghulam Dastgir Azaad said.

The bus was on its way from Delaram district to Kabul when the bomb exploded.

At least six killed in Karachi shootings

KARACHI: At least six persons were killed and several others were wounded in different incidents of firing in Karachi.

Four people were killed in the city’s New Karachi neighbourhood when two groups clashed over the sale of a piece of land.

The four dead are said to be members of the Pakistan People’s Party.

In the Ayub Goth area, one person was shot dead by unknown assailants.

Meanwhile, in the city’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area, unknown gunmen killed one person.

Nawaz says Zardari got him disqualified

LAHORE: PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif says President Asif Zardari has played a role in his disqualification and end of Shahbaz Sharif’s government.

Sharif said Zardari was initially ready to restore judges but later he had change of heart.

He said it was his biggest mistake to appoint Musharraf as COAS. He said it was the time to raise public issues.

Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif visited Data Darbar  to pay homage to the saint and show their solidarity with the victims of twin blasts that rocked the Data Darbar Complex.

The former prime minister also offered prayers at the shrine. He visited the damaged portion of the complex and got a briefing on human and financial losses.

Four labourers shot dead in Khuzdar

QUETTA: Four labourers were killed and seven others injured, three of them seriously, when some people opened fire on their vehicle in Surab area of Khuzdar district.

Police sources said the labourers were going to their camp in a pick-up after finishing their work on an under-construction gas compressor plant in the area.

Police said some armed men on motorbikes had opened fire on them.

The injured were Abdul Fateh, Shabbir, Manzoor Ahmed, Khadim Hussain, Maqbool Ahmed, Noor Hasan and Gulab Khan.Frontier Corps and police personnel took the bodies and the injured to Khuzdar civil hospital.

Hospital sources said the condition of three of the injured was serious.
