LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on arrested former Inspector General of Police Punjab, Chaudhry Ameen, after the Lahore High Court rejected his bail application.
Chaudhry Ameen was charged with misappropriating around 45 million rupees. He was also accused of misuse of authority during his tenure as the Inspector General of Police.
Rawalpindi’s Accountability Court reopened Chaudhry Ameen’s case after the Supreme Court of Pakistan declared the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) illegal and unconstitutional.
Ameen then filed an application with the Lahore High Court in which he sought pre-arrest bail. More ever, the court rejected his bail application and the former IG has now been taken into custody.
